What is PEDeDose?
PEDeDose is a quality-assured clinical decision support system that meets the requirements for a Class IIa medical device. As a web-based application, PEDeDose actively supports healthcare professionals in deciding on drug dosages and thus ensures the safe and efficient prescription of pharmaceuticals. Who can use PEDeDose?
PEDeDose is a medical application that makes everyday work easier for healthcare professionals caring for premature and newborn babies, infants, toddlers, children, adolescents and adults. It is used in clinics such as the children's hospitals, doctors' practices, pharmacies and by individual healthcare professionals. PEDeDose is not designed for non-professionals.

How can I access PEDeDose?
Three steps lead to success:
1. Go to the website www.pededose.ch and click on ‘Login’ in the top right-hand corner.
2. Click on ‘New user account’ and fill in the registration form.
3. After confirming the registration email (for individual users) or returning the contract (for institutions), you can log in at www.pededose.ch once PEDeus Health has activated your account.

How can I integrate PEDeDose into my existing IT system (e.g. clinical information system, doctor's practice or pharmacy software)?
Can I test PEDeDose free of charge?
As a single user you have the possibility to request a free access to PEDeDose. With this you can search for drugs and get general dosage recommendations. However, with the free version, the application does not calculate individual dosages for your patients. A fee-based access is necessary for this. Please check our current prices for single users or institutions in any case.

How much does the access to PEDeDose cost? How is it paid?
Our prices are scaled and also address the different needs of our customers. Here you will find prices for single users and for institutions such as clinics, pharmacies and doctor's practices.
After your registration we will send you an invoice with the user fee for 12 or 24 months. The contract shall be extended by further 12 or 24 months at the end of the initial term of the contract.
How can I cancel my access to PEDeDose?
We regret that you have decided to take this step. In this case, cancel the contract at least 30 days (single user) or 3 months (institution) before the end of the initial contract period or an extension period in writing or via e-mail.
Why is the PEDeDose software a medical device?
PEDeDose is a clinical decision support system that enables patient-specific calculation of dosages. The software is therefore is classified as a medical device (Class IIa). It serves a medical purpose and contributes directly to the well-being of patients. As a medical device, PEDeDose software must comply with the specific legal requirements.
Does the PEDeDose software meet special requirements as a medical device?
PEDeDose, as clinical decision support software, is a Class IIa medical device in accordance with the Swiss (MepV) and European (MDR) Medical Devices Regulations. PEDeDose first underwent a conformity assessment procedure in accordance with the EU MDR in 2020 and passed a further assessment of its technical documentation by the notified body TÜV SÜD in 2025.
PEDeus Health is certified as a medical device manufacturer in accordance with ISO 13485 and holds a certificate for its quality management system in accordance with the MDR. Both certificates require compliance with stringent standards regarding processes and documentation, which are audited annually by the conformity assessment body.
How many substances does PEDeDose contain?
PEDeDose contains all the important substances (342 substances as of March 2025) used in children's clinics, with the exception of cytostatics and HIV drugs.
The database is also continuously expanded to include active substances that are used exclusively in adult medicine. This is particularly important so that the “dosage adjustment in renal insufficiency” function can also be used in adult medicine and geriatrics.
How reliable are the data in PEDeDose?
The data on the substances contained in PEDeDose are based on the harmonised drug dosages of SwissPedDose, on clinical studies and on the experience of university hospitals. The data is subject to ongoing monitoring of the literature to ensure it remains up to date and is maintained by experienced pharmacists. Every adjustment in the database is checked according to the 6-eyes principle, historicised and thus remains traceable.
Can I add my own dosage data?
The quality of our dosage data has the highest priority for us. For this reason, adaptations and supplements are carried out by our experienced pharmacists and checked according to the 6-eyes principle. Are you missing an active ingredient or an indication? How does PEDeus cooperate with children's hospitals in Switzerland?
PEDeus strives to cooperate with all children's hospitals. This is decisive: on the one hand, to ensure that PEDeDose can be used in everyday clinical practice and on the other hand, because the high quality dosage data in PEDeDose is also based on the many years of university experience of children's hospitals with pediatric drugs.
How does PEDeus cooperate with SwissPedDose?
The SwissPedDose association, which is supported by the eight major children's clinics in Switzerland, develops nationally harmonised dosage recommendations for drugs used for children and makes them available to medical professionals in a directory. PEDeDose, formerly kinderdosierungen.ch, starts here, includes the dosage recommendations from SwissPedDose, but contains also many more active ingredients and goes one step further in its implementation: With the help of the quality-assured clinical decision support system, it actively supports healthcare professionals in calculating dosages, a complex and hitherto error-prone activity.
How does PEDeDose differ from comparable offers?
PEDeDose is particularly innovative: on the one hand because of the calculator and the automated checking of patient data for plausibility and on the other hand because it can be directly integrated into primary systems (clinical information systems, doctor's practice and pharmacy software) as web service or via direct links.
There is no product known to us on the international healthcare market that contains the same functionalities while still fully complying with legal requirements.
